Invitation

The Owner is issuing this RFQ to prequalify general contractors for the construction of a new multi-use school facility in Stouffville, Ontario which will include an elementary to grade 12 school and a childcare center (the “Project”). The facility will be a landmark project and, when completed, will be the first school within the York Catholic District School Board to offer a complete elementary to grade 12 educational program.

Construction of the Project is anticipated to start in 2020 and will include a 350-pupil place elementary school, a 850-pupil place grade 7 to 12 secondary school, and a 3-classroom childcare centre. The planned GFA is 160,000 sq ft and the facility will include classrooms, science and instrumental music rooms, technology education rooms, art, theatre and music rooms, and will also include common areas such as gymnasia, exercise room(s), stage, cafeteria, Chapel and library/learning commons, as well as operational spaces such as office, guidance, staff room(s), work rooms, servery, meeting rooms, storage rooms, washrooms, custodian, mechanical and electrical rooms.  

The Owner is inviting Submissions from Proponents who wish to be prequalified to participate in a subsequent request for proposals process to be issued by the Owner for the Project (the “Project RFP”) and who are able to clearly demonstrate an exemplary record of successful construction of education facilities comparable to the Project.

Subject to the terms of this RFQ, only Proponents prequalified through this RFQ will be eligible to participate in the Project RFP, if it is issued.
