1.1.1 It is standard Board process that Requests for Tenders are issued to Board Pre-qualified Contractors only. This Request for Pre-qualification process is intended to solicit responses from interested Contractors who supply General Contracting Services for the Board’s renewal capital jobs (“Project”). General Contracting Services solicited under this Request for Pre-qualification are grouped into two categories, as follows:
1.1.2 Proponents may apply to pre-qualify for one or both General Contracting Service categories shown in Section 1.1.1 as they deem appropriate for their organization. Only submitting for one type of work or dollar range will not have a negative impact on a Proponent’s scoring. 1.1.3 General Contractors who have been previously Board approved or who are currently performing work for the Board must also respond to this request. 1.1.4 The participation of a successful Proponent may not be requested for all competitive bids. The Board reserves the right to rotate the participation of the pre-qualifying Contractors in a manner which the Board deems fair and equitable. Mere pre-qualification will not impose any obligation on the Board to actually call upon any Pre-qualified Contractor to submit a bid for or fulfill any. 1.1.5 It is anticipated the contract for the Projects will be in the form of CCDC 2-2008 stipulated price contract, as amended by supplementary conditions. 1.1.6 The prequalified Proponents must be acting as the Prime General Contractor for all Projects undertaken for the Board. No sub-contractors will be used to perform any of the two types of general contracting services outlined. 1.1.7 The prequalified Proponents must ensure only one direct sub-contractor reporting to the Prime General Contractor will be used per trade on Projects undertaken for the Board. Note the sub-contractors cannot hire the services of other sub-contractors. 1.1.8 Upon request by the Board, for each project undertaken for the Board, the successful Proponents will provide the following to the Board from each sub-contractor prior to starting work: a) their area of service, legal name, addresses, contact person name b) all information as outlined in Section 1 – Mandatory Requirements. Note that failure to provide this information will disqualify the sub-contractor from working on Projects.
